Corfu Golf Holidays
Since Victorian times Corfu with it’ slush mix of cypress and
olive trees has been a favorite among the British golfers. Corfu
has one of the finest landscapes in the Mediterranean for
golfing.
The Corfu golf club par 72, 6,803 yards. This beautiful course
was designed by Donald Harradine and he has blended the natural
resources of the lovely Ropa Valley with man made hazards to
make the course a superior but fair test for golfers of all
abilities. The magnificent greens of Penncross are considered to
be of premium quality in the Mediterranean, while the tree-lined
fair ways and the sand traps combined with several lakes and
streams to create a striking picture against the backdrop of
hills. A modern irrigation system keeps the course in perfect
condition at all times.
From a golfer’s point of view Golfing in Corfu is best early or
late summer. This is the reason why all popular golf weeks are
held at these times. These weeks are attended by 3D staff and
Frank Derwett a Managing Director makes some of his May events
part of his yearly holidays.
The quality of the golf course and its close proximity to the
Ermones Beach Hotel adds to the enjoyment of Corfu as does the
pace f life. As far as golfers are concerned Corfu has been the
best kept secret and they hope it will remain as such.
The Ermones Golf Palace is a four star hotel located on the west
coast of Corfu on the top of a hill with a panoramic sea view.
It’s 15 km from the airport and 1 km from the Corfu Golf Club
and only 50 meters away from the beach. It’s set among an olive
grove and colorful gardens and it’s balconies have magnificent
views to the Ionian Sea.
If you’re a golfer and you haven’t tried Corfu, find out when
the next golfing week is and put it on your calendar and try it
out. Once you come to Corfu and once you have tried Corfiot
delights we guarantee you’ll be back a second time.
